><br>Managing Director

><br>Reporting into a Senior leader in the Developer Division business, the
Managing Director of the MS Canada Development Centre has overall
responsibility for site governance and fosters a culture of innovation. The
incumbent will actively establish partnerships within Microsoft Canada and
with US-based leadership to establish product focus areas and teams at the
site. Other duties will include, performance review, calibration of directs
and appropriate dotted-line reports, overseeing community-building efforts
with both internal and external audiences and responsibility for overall
leadership of the Centre.

><br>The leader will have responsibility for:

>• Serving as the primary liaison between Redmond leaders and the MCDC <br>•
Leading the strategy for the MCDC with Redmond stakeholders; ensuring Centre
efforts align with Microsoft vision and strategy

>• Creating an environment that drives connection among employees and managers
across Centre efforts<br>• Designing organizational infrastructure and
capability to deliver on Centre objectives and champion the site

>• Building budgets and policies for cross-Centre activities<br>• Helping
drive Microsoft citizenship in British Columbia, particularly with government
and the technical community

>• Working with MS IT, finance, human resources, and LCA partners to ensure
that the business is supported<br>• Sharing oversight of delivery of Centre-
based projects with other GDCs and/or Redmond based leaders

>• Managing performance reviews, calibrations and promotions of directs and
dotted-line reports<br>

>KEY STAKEHOLDERS AND RELATIONSHIPS<br> Redmond and MCDC leadership teams of
Centre participant businesses

> HR, finance, IT and real estate & facilities for the site<br> Establish
relationships with external customers and partners within the greater
Vancouver area, the province and across Canada

><br>KEY REQUIREMENTS

> Influential Leader - Requires a true leader who uses hisher expertise, force
of personality and influence skills to establish and maintain smooth
operations in a Centre that will house several different product organizations
and functions

> Collaborator - Requires ability to build behind-the-scenes support for ideas
and secure strategic alliances and partnerships to gain widespread support<br>
Visionary - Requires short and long term focus to lead discussions and
implementations of Canada Technical Centre strategies that deliver on current
and future business needs for site

><br>Specific requirements include:

>• 8+ years Microsoft product development experience<br>• Effective
communication with broad and diverse internal and external audiences through a
variety of media and in controversial or difficult situations

>• Proven ability to secure strategic alliances and partnerships to gain
widespread support<br>• Strong planning, organization and coordination skills

>• Demonstrated pioneering competency by displaying a determination and spirit
that inspires others to persevere in the face of big challenges<br>•
Comprehension of a broad array of Microsoft technology solutions and platforms

>• Ability to connect and sympathize with new college hires; mentorcoaching
experience of new entrants into SDE, SDET and PM roles

>• Experience leading a team of multicultural and diverse employees <br>•
First-hand or learned understanding of Canadian culture and government systems

>• Extensive experience in public speaking is preferred<br>

>HEADCOUNT RESPONSIBILITIES<br>Direct - One (1) Executive Administrator

>Indirect - Provide site leadership, to a approximately 250-300 full-time
employees will report indirectly into this position from businesses throughout
Microsoft. <br>
